Terra Sibirica LLC. is a Russian company located in the heart of Siberia - in Tomsk city, engaged in the production and export of wooden houses from Siberian cedar, pine and larch.

Even though the company was registered in 2016, the most important thing we have is people who have more than 13 years of experience in wooden home-building, including export.

Home-building is what we love and do it perfectly.

We produce and sell home kits manufactured by using various technologies:
- from the rounded log;

- from glued beams;

- massive profiled timber;

- manual logging;

- as well as molded products (lining, decking, floor boards, etc.)

Our houses are already in Europe (Poland, Austria, Serbia, Germany, Croatia, France, Slovakia, Netherlands, Czech Republic) and Asia (China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, South Korea) and we want the whole world to know about beautiful houses made of Siberian trees, so we invite you to cooperate with us.

Why one should choose a wooden house?

Wood is an amazing living material, which is characterized by such qualities as resistance to aggressive surrounding environments, high strength, elasticity, low density, natural decorative effect.

Moreover, its low thermal conductivity provides heat in houses in winter and will bring pleasant chill in summer time. This fact allows to build our houses with a smaller wall thickness. Besides, wood is easy to process and wooden structures are assembled relatively quickly.

Wooden houses are lighter than stone and brick houses, so they do not require deep and heavy basements. Wooden houses look more aesthetic and elitist, they do not require either external or internal finishing, which leads to additional costs. Wood is a natural material, creating comfort and special cosiness in the house, filling it with life and energy.

And finally, wood as material meets all the parameters of environmental friendliness, which is very important nowadays, taking into account the current trend towards conscious consumption and taking care of one’s health.

Yes, it’s not mistake that we mentioned environmental friendliness. It should be noted that our company does not deal with logging and deforestation. We buy logs officially, completely legally, from loggers who pay duties to the state, including for the restoration of the forest fund, and are themselves engaged in planting forests.

There is also a flip side of logging. Trees have their own lifespan, and then they start to rot, become a hotbed of bark beetle or turn into dead wood, which is one of the risk factors for fires. It’s generally forbidden to cut down cedar in large quantities; we are supplied with trees from sanitary felling and felling of mixed forests (where the ratio of cedar to other tree species is on average 1: 5). The percentage of forest use in house building is small compared to other areas of the forest industry.

So, with proper forest management and reforestation, a tree can find a second life in your home.

Why cedar?

Cedar has several advantages over other types of wood, for which we especially love it:

- has healing properties, is a natural antiseptic, due to the release of phytoncides (biologically active substances that kill or inhibit the growth and development of bacteria, microscopic fungi, protozoa), it disinfects and heals the air inside the room. It is worth noting that customers usually set requirements for the absence of knots, but phytoncides are released from the resin that comes from the knots, so the elements of home sets with knots are much more useful;

- counteracts atmospheric sensitivity, harmonizes blood circulation and strengthens overall well-being, a person feels rested. HUMAN RESEARCH Research Institute, Institute of Medical Technology and Health Research (HRI) in Weitz, Austria, found that specific components of cedar pine lead to a soft heartbeat in people at night.

- has a pleasant coniferous aroma, making it ideal for the construction of baths and saunas;

- it does not give in to harmful effects of moisture, practically there are no fungi and mold;

- malleable material, which is why woodcarvers love it.

Why larch?

It is also worth highlighting larch and some of its features:

- thanks to the gum, which is part of the resin, over time it only gains strength, and the more moisture, the stronger it becomes, it does not rot without air (for example, under water, under the ground). There is the building in Tomsk, which is known as the "1000 little things", which foundation is made of larch. During the repair, Tomsk students unearthed one of the piles, which in a hundred years acquired such hardness that they could not hammer a nail into it. It is believed that Venice stands on stilts of larch. Also due to this quality, larch is used in shipbuilding.

- has a natural resistance to decay, pests and insects, also due to the composition of its resin;

- durable, ideal as a floor covering.

Raw materials

Logging also takes place in our Siberian region. Mainly we use winter forest, because the timber harvested during this period of the year contains minimum of moisture and resin. Wood is a living material, and, of course, each beam is different. During internal quality checking-in each log is tested by the master. We carefully select the best logs for production: without rot and not infected by insects. We work only with trusted loggers who have all necessary permissions for deforestation.

All sales transactions are registered in the state system of wood accounting EGAIS Forest, that guarantees all transactions legality.

Since we produce houses for export to foreign construction companies, it is quite problematic for us to get photos of finished houses. But still, we have some photos of the construction process in the territory of the customer.
